Who runs it

This giveaway (the "Contest") is run by HVAC Xchanger Magazine of London, ON (the "Organizer"). Questions about the Contest can go to dave@hvacxchanger.com.

Who can enter

Open to legal residents of Canada who are of the age of majority where they live. Employees of the Organizer, and the people they live with or are immediately related to, can't enter.

Each entrant needs a free My Xchanger account at hvacxchanger.com/my/ with a confirmed email address.

When

The Contest opens October 29, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and closes January 31, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the "Contest Period"). Entries made outside the Contest Period don't count.

How to enter

No purchase is necessary. Buying anything does not improve your chances of winning.

Go to hvacxchanger.com/giveaway/, enter your email address and choose "Enter the giveaway". This signs you in to My Xchanger, or creates a free account if you don't have one. New accounts must confirm their email address before the Contest closes for the entry to count.

Entering requires agreeing to receive emails from the Organizer: an email when each new edition of HVAC Xchanger is out. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing after you enter does not cancel your entry.

Limit of one entry per person and per email address. Entries from more than one account, or made by automated means, are void.

You can withdraw your entry in My Xchanger at any time. Deleting your account withdraws it too.

Prize

One grand prize of $250 CAD in cash, paid to the winner by Interac e-Transfer.

There is one prize.

The prize must be accepted as awarded and can't be transferred.

The draw and your odds

The winner is selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period, on February 1, 2027 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, in London, ON. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

If you are drawn

We email the selected entrant at the address on their My Xchanger account within five business days of the draw. They have seven days from that email to reply.

Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer, without help, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, and sign a declaration confirming they meet these rules, accept the prize as awarded and release HVAC Xchanger Magazine from any liability related to the Contest or the prize.

If the selected entrant does not reply in time, is not eligible, answers the question incorrectly or does not sign the declaration, they forfeit the prize and another entry is drawn.

Your information

Entries are kept with your My Xchanger account and used to run this Contest, check eligibility, and contact and award the winner, as our privacy policy describes. With their permission, the winner's first name and city may be announced. Entries are deleted when you delete your account.

General

The Organizer may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or breaks these rules.

The Organizer is not responsible for entries lost or delayed by technical problems. If something outside its control stops the Contest running as planned, the Organizer may change, suspend or end it, subject to applicable law, and may then draw from eligible entries received to that point.

The Contest is void where prohibited. It is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The Organizer's decisions on all matters relating to the Contest are final.

If these rules and anything else said about the Contest differ, these rules apply.
